Greetings to all the Great members of the Grand du Illinois.
I bet you thought you were through with me after you allowed me to serve you for the past three years! Well, Grand Chef Marvin had different plans! Marvin has appointed me as Boxcar Directeur Directeur for 2007-2008. Boxcar is one of the many Programs in our Great 40/8. The funds that they raise during the year are shared with other Programs within the 40/8. At the Nationale Promenade, they put on a Party for special education kids and the Boxcar Hobos entertain. It is really a site to see. You may see a hobo or two at the Fall Cheminot!Everyone has a lot of fun at the kids party. They also give any rolling stock a check to help with the expense of driving to the Nationale Promenade. On top of all this they always donate a LARGE check to support the other programs of La Societe.
We raise money by selling pins (who does'nt) Boxcar cards, for 40/8er's only and associate cards for any one who wants to support our program. This could be your Wife, Son or Daughter, neighbor or just about anyone that you know.
I have Pins, Boxcar cards and associate cards you can get on consignment. I would ask that you consider making a Boxcar card a part of your membership dues, if possible the Locale could kick in the dollar that they cost, if not ask your members to help with the purchase! The Boxcar is the LOGO of the 40/8 and should be honored by being a member of the Boxcar Association. Think about it and then order your pins and cards from me!
